After many years performing in musical theater and other venues (including a “Perry Mason” made-for-TV movie), singer Cindy turned her attention to jazz. She has studied with acclaimed jazz singer, Sheila Jordan, and jazz pianist/composer/educator, Dr. Billy Taylor.
In 1996, Cindy was named a semi-finalist in the KUVO ‘Jazz Search” for new talent. Her CD, “Blues Are Relative”, with noted jazz musicians Jeff Jenkins, Ken Walker and Paul Romaine, was released in 2006. Cindy has performed throughout Colorado at restaurants, night clubs, country clubs and private parties.
In addition to singing, Cindy’s other love is teaching. If she can’t be somewhere performing, her next favorite thing to do is teaching someone else to sing! She was certified over 15 years ago as a Vocal Coach by Dr. L. Scott Martin, director of The Academy of the Arts. Cindy has been teaching since then – all ages – children through adult. Although there are certain vocal principles that are universal (breath support, projection, care of the voice, etc.), Cindy believes strongly in tailoring lessons to the individual student’s goals & vocal style.
Cindy is available for Private Vocal Coaching – for singers (as well as public speakers).
